BSME is the largest British international schools membership organisation in the region. The membership benefits ensure that schools feel supported in their relentless pursuit of excellence. We therefore offer three tiers of membership to schools which meet the following criteria:
The school must offer a British style education.
The primary language of instruction and operating language of the School is English.
The curriculum must be based on significant aspects of the UK National Curriculum and/or prepare students for DfE recognised examinations such as Key Stage SATs (UK), GCSE, iGCSE or GCE AS/A2 levels, and/or IB.
All teachers, including Headteachers, must be legally employed and suitably qualified.
The School must be licensed and/or registered with the Ministry of Education in the host country
If you meet these criteria, please complete the Membership Application Form. Following your submission, BSME will be in touch with you to outline the membership process.
Within two years of becoming a Member School, your school must undertake an accreditation; you will then be awarded Accredited Member status. Further details about accreditation can be discussed with Olivia Roth, Chief Executive Officer for BSME.
If you are a school working towards the criteria or wish to inquire about any element of membership, please contact our Membership Coordinator, Lisa Kirkley.
