Thank you for considering applying for membership of BSME. Membership will be considered from schools which have been open for at least one year and that meet the definition for membership given in the BSME constitution. This indicates that to be considered:

• the school must be mainly English medium
• the curriculum must be based on significant aspects of the UK National Curriculum and/or prepare students for DfE recognised examinations such as Key Stage SATs (UK), GCSE, IGCSE or GCE AS/A2 levels/IB,
• the Principal or Headteacher should have qualifications recognised by the DfE
• more than half the teachers (excluding those who teach the local language) should have teaching qualifications recognised by the DfE or should have DfE numbers
