The British School of Kuwait is a selective, co-educational international school for students aged 4 – 18 years. The school follows the National Curriculum for England and was founded in 1978. It offers a full range of IGCSE, A/S and A level courses in the sciences, the humanities, the creative arts, languages, business subjects and design and technology. The Sixth-Form numbers over 80. Graduates take up places in prestigious universities across the world.
The British School of Kuwait places a strong emphasis on the all-round education of students through the provision of a rigorous academic curriculum designed in accordance with the principles of the British education system. Due regard is paid to the cultural context of the Middle East and the traditions of more than 70 nations from which students come. A diverse range of sporting and cultural activities is also offered to the students.
The school has an excellent range of facilities. All classrooms are equipped with interactive white boards and there is extensive use of the school’s Virtual Learning Environment. Lessons have been suitably tailored to incorporate the use of technology to deliver the curriculum. There is also a suite of modern laboratories for physics, chemistry and biology, a large Learning Resource Centre, a theatre and a suite of art and music rooms. There is a newly fitted suite of rooms for the teaching of design and technology with state of the art equipment. For physical education there is a heated swimming pool, use of an astro turf football pitch, and two international standard basketball courts.
