Kuwait National English school is an expanding co-educational English day school centrally located, with fully qualified staff recruited from the UK and from international schools abroad, which delivers a British style curriculum from KG up to entrance to university and prepares students for IGCSE, GCSE and GCE, A/S and A level. The school offers small class sizes and very good facilities. There is a 20m x 12m indoor heated swimming pool, a full-size gymnasium, outdoor sports facilities, computer centres, and science block with laboratories for Biology, Chemistry and Physics, theatre, art room and other facilities.
The School is recognized by the Kuwait Ministry of Education and is an official member of UNESCO Associated Schools Project. The School has a good student/teacher ratio that allows the most able students to enter external examinations in some subjects one year earlier. A full-range of options is offered for IGCSE and A/S and A-Level subjects as well as a full range of English tests from JET to FCE and TOEFL. A "Leaving Certificate" is given to students at the end of their studies at the school.
Students who have learning difficulties join the SEN department, which offers new facilities. Some of these students are also integrated within the mainstream, but get extra support from the specialist teachers from this department. Kuwait National English School aims to provide a positive complete incentive education with respect of the universal values of tolerance, solidarity, trust, integrity, truth, justice for peace and co-operation. Students gain a better understanding of the world in general within a small and caring environment to meet each child's individual needs.
Admission to the school is by parent application, followed by a personal interview or written tests. A summer programme is held mid-June to mid-July. Scholarships are offered internally and externally for gifted students of all nationalities in memory of 'OMAR' Al Gharabally.
