Comments / Description
Al Khor International School is owned by RasGas and QatarGas, the two national gas companies in Qatar. It provides education for children of employees of the companies and a limited number of Qataris who live in the area.

The school was opened in September 1999 and is housed in spacious purpose-built facilities within the Al Khor Housing Community. The facilities and the level of resourcing are both excellent.

The Curriculum in the Primary School is a combination of the National Curriculum of England and the International Primary Curriculum. In the Secondary School, the National Curriculum of England is followed leading to IGCSE examinations in Year 11 and AS Levels in Yr 12.

The School is staffed mainly by UK trained teachers, supported by Learning Assistants. In the Primary School, class teachers work with maximum groups of 24 and they are supported by specialist teachers of P.E., Music, Arabic and French. We also have specialist teachers for SEN children and to support those with EAL.

The School focuses on providing high quality learning opportunities incorporating an understanding of individual learning styles. We are fortunate in having a range of cultures and nationalities in our student body; we encourage cultural sharing and mutual respect for the traditions and beliefs of others.
