Emirates International School – Jumeirah (EIS - Jumeirah) was established in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates in 1991. The Al Habtoor Group own and manage EIS - Jumeirah as a community service. EIS - Jumeirah has a current enrollment of 1800 students from over 80 countries and is situated on a pleasant and inviting campus with excellent facilities. The school is demonstrative of the highest international standards in both curriculum and instruction. The students are polite yet well disciplined and the learning environment is friendly and safe. Our graduates qualify for entrance into leading universities throughout the world.
The school's academic programme is divided between the Primary / Junior School (Grades KG2-6) and the High School (Grades 7-13). The age level for these grades ranges between 4 and 18 years. The curriculum implemented in the Primary and Junior School is the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). In Grades 7-9, students are building a foundation for the more rigorous curriculum offered in later grades within the High School. Students in Grades 10 and 11 follow the Edexcel International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) courses which culminate with examinations in Grade 11. Grade 12 and 13 students undertake the two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP). The IB Diploma Programme is a comprehensive and challenging pre-university course that demands the best from both motivated students and teachers.
The school is accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and Edexcel (an international examination body). EIS – Jumeirah was authorised as an “IB World School” by the International Baccalaureate Organisation in 1992. Since our first graduating class in 1993 through to 2008, we have entered 588 candidates in the IB Diploma Programme. An impressive 553 students were awarded the IB Diploma.
Mr. Jason Kirwin is the Principal of Emirates International Schools (Email: jkirwin@eischools.ae).
