Comments / Description
The first JESS school in Jumeirah was established in 1975 and grew steadily over a thirty year period establishing itself as a premiere school serving the needs of the English speaking community of Dubai. Responding to growing demand, the school opened a new primary school and secondary school in September 2005 and now provides opportunities for pupils from the Foundation Stage – post-sixteen (Year 13). JESS is a fee paying, not for profit organisation that is administered by a Board of Governors and is staffed by experienced, highly qualified teachers.

Facilities at both sites are state of the art reflecting the aims of JESS in providing a broad and balanced education focussed upon the individual pupil. The original site is continually upgraded to meet the challenging curriculum and opportunities offered to pupils on a day to day basis.

The nine acre site at the Arabian Ranches features over 80 classrooms, Science & ICT labs, Art, Drama & DT facilities, an independent music facility, a 500-seater Auditorium, 1000sq metre sports hall, two temperature-controlled, shaded swimming pools, equipped playground areas and extensive playing fields.

JESS has gained significant praise from recent inspection reports as well as achieving IB World School Status.

It is also worth pointing out that facilities do not assure a good school. The greatest resource we have are the students, staff and good will of the JESS/Dubai community. We continue to recruit and retain staff of the highest calibre.
