Partly based in the grounds of the British Consulate, in a quiet residential suburb, the British School of Alexandria is a self-financing, non profit making school providing a high quality, English National Curriculum education to the children of the expatriate and local communities. BSA employs full-time teachers with British recognised teaching qualifications supported by well qualified part-time staff and teaching assistants. Class sizes are limited to 20 and the school has a lovely family atmosphere. The School prides itself in its pastoral care and every child is treated as an individual. Expectations for all our pupils are high and NCT (SATs) results are generally above those expected for the age group and IGCSE/GCSE results are excellent. Language and literacy support is available for students from non-English speaking backgrounds. In addition to the normal curriculum subjects, a broad and balanced education is provided by the extensive extra curricula programme. For those students for whom Arabic is their mother tongue an additional, optional Arabic programme is offered. The active Friends of the School group organises regular activities, many of which raise funds both for the School and local charities. The Leadership Team and the staff at the school are supported by a very hardworking Board of Governors. Mission Statement The British School of Alexandria aims to offer an education of the highest quality through a broad-based British-style curriculum. The School aims to promote an international perspective among its pupils and, by a variety of opportunity, seeks to ensure for each student the chance to develop his or her full potential as a committed and valued member of the school community. The School is dedicated to develop in pupils the qualities and skills necessary to become confident, self-motivated, responsible and socially aware individuals.
