At Star International School, we aim to create a sense of community and belonging for all our pupils. We have an inclusive ethos with high expectations, a broad and balanced curriculum for all children and systems for early identification of barriers to learning and participation that a child might have.

The school aims to cater for all children, whatever their needs. Those with SEND can include children with learning difficulties, those with emotional or behavioural problems and those with physical disabilities. Many children may have special needs during their time at school, but this is not seen as permanent. Some children may need extra help for a few weeks or months, some may need it for several years. Children will be assessed regularly by staff to see what help is needed. Needs can be identified at any time and referrals are made to the Learning Support Team as soon as a possible need is identified. The school aims to identify and provide for a child’s needs as early as possible.

Comments/Description
Welcome to Star International School, Mirdif. Star Mirdif is a large Primary school that follows the National Curriculum of England. The School is situated in the heart of Mirdif in close proximity to Abaya Mall and Uptown Mirdif. Our children join us from all corners of the globe, representing over 50 different nationalities. They are polite, hardworking and enthusiastic individuals. Their behaviour is exemplary and visitors to school oftencomment on their positive attitude to learning and the excellent relationships they share with each other and their
teachers.

The school has a warm family feel with teachers, parents, children and the wider community all working together to offer the children the best possible opportunities. The school nurtures children through their learning journey from Foundation Stage to Year 6, whereupon, through expert guidance, teaching and learning they become citizens that are able to manage and achieve in our ever changing world.

Our school is very special to everyone; indeed, it is the heart of our community. Parents, children and staff show great respect towards each other, and in doing so, create a positive environment where all are willing to learn, understand and work together.

We look forward to welcoming new families into our school community, where we hope you will embrace our friendship, trust and the pursuit of excellence.
