Safeguarding

As a member of the International Task Force on Child Protection, BSME is committed to safeguarding students. All BSME schools are required to have a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) trained to Level 3. This year, Ann Marie Christian provides BSME’s world-class Safeguarding training. Ann Marie is an international trainer with extensive experience of working in our region. This course is appropriate for new or experienced DSLs and includes opportunities to update your knowledge, skills and expertise, refine your policies and practice, and consider relevant issues at play in international schools. Ann Marie will also refer to good practice in safer recruitment.

BSME is represented on and supports the International Task Force on Child Protection Statement of Commitment:

  1. All children have equal rights to be protected from harm and abuse.

  2. Everyone has a responsibility to support the protection of children.

  3. All schools have a duty of care to children enrolled in the school and those who are affected by the operations of the school.

  4. All actions on protection are taken with consideration for the best interests of the child, which are paramount.
