BSME TeacherCon DXB25 | Event Recap

Educators and BSME partners came together at Kent College Dubai for BSME TeacherConDXB25; a day dedicated to professional learning, growth, and collaboration. The event opened with a compelling keynote from Dr Neil Hopkin (Fortes Education), who explored how AI is transforming not only what students know, but how they think. Dr. Hopkin highlighted concepts such as the Google Effect, Bloom’s 2 Sigma Problem, and the potential risks of outsourcing cognition to machines. He shared practical strategies for teachers and leaders to foster resilience, judgment, and deep thinking in an AI-driven world.

Following the keynote, delegates engaged in a series of dynamic workshops. Each session brought fresh ideas and innovative practices to the fore, encouraging participants to explore diverse perspectives and adopt pioneering classroom strategies. Topics ranged from gamification and amplifying achievements to challenges of chronic individualism and cross-cultural complexities, leaving no stone unturned in advancing teaching excellence.

The day concluded with an insightful panel discussion featuring:

While conversations around AI are increasingly prevalent, the panel reminded us of the critical human input required to ensure a future where AI serves humanity with empathy. They explored the evolving role of teachers, the changing nature of classrooms, and how educators can thrive alongside technology.
