The University of Buckingham is one of the largest providers of teacher training in the UK and overseas. With over 1,300 teachers and school leaders studying with us each year we have become one of England’s leading providers of teacher training and professional development.
Our primary aim is to improve teaching and leadership in schools by offering a wide range of courses to those employed in schools, but require training or CPD.
For trainee teachers outside the UK we offer:
- International QTS course which leads to the QTS qualification that teachers need to work in state schools in England
- International PGCE course including a version taught in Arabic. From 2026 we are opening the PGCE course up to teachers in Hong Kong with additional tutor visits
- Assessment-Only route to QTS for more experienced teachers which is quick and cost effective
- Masters and doctorate courses for more experienced teachers. This includes a Masters in Residential Education for those working in boarding schools
- For teaching assistants who do not have a degree we offer a three-year online degree course in Primary Education or Secondary Maths with SEND
All of our courses are available online with regular virtual seminars and support sessions throughout. Whether your interest is in leadership and management, or something else entirely, we can support your career progression and aspirations.
